District Lakki Marwat is situated to the extreme south east of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. To the north, its boundaries meet with Districts Bannu and Karak. It touches District Mianwali of Punjab to the east and Frontier Region (FR) Bhattani to the west. In south it is on the brink of District DIKhan.

Geography

The area of District Lakki Marwat is approximately 3150 square KM. It is at a height of 171.2 meters from the sea level. Its soil is sandy, sandy loam and clay.

Climate

The climate is hot and dry. But suits to all kinds of agricultural crops and vegetables subject to the provision of irrigation water.

The major language is Pashto (99 %), which is spoken throughout the district, where Marwat and Bhittanis have their own distinct dialects. Hindko is also spoken in Lakki city only.

1. Qabool Khel Atomic Energy Commission at Qabool Khel, District Lakki where Uranium like precious mineral is excavated and processed.
2. Lucky Cement Factory, at Pezu, District Lakki Marwat.
3. Pezu Mountains: It has sufficient height from the sea level and has a pleasant climate at the top. From these mountains limestone is excavated & used in Lucky Cement Factory, Pezu.
4. Indus Highway: Indus Highway is also passes through this district. It enters form Karak District at Northern side & leads towards D.I.Khan District.
5. Archeological Site: In Wanda Shahab Khel, District Lakki Marwat, very ancient coins and statues have been discovered / excavated and retained by Peshawar Museum now.
